Holiday Patrols Highlight Safer Roads Across Tarrant County.

The stretch between Christmas and New Year’s is one of the busiest times on local roads, and this year was no exception.

From December 26 through January 1, deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office were out in force as part of Operation Safe City, Dangerous Roads. Over the course of the week, deputies conducted 273 traffic stops, responded to 39 crashes, and issued nine citations while working to keep drivers and families safe across the county.

Those crash calls included a mix of incidents, with 14 classified as major, 18 as minor, and seven as hit-and-run. While enforcement played a role, officials emphasized that the greater impact comes from the everyday choices drivers make.

For Benbrook residents and others traveling through Tarrant County, the message is simple. Buckling up, slowing down, staying sober, and paying attention behind the wheel all add up. Each responsible decision reduces the risk of serious accidents and helps keep everyone safer.

As the new year continues, deputies say they will remain active on local roads, partnering with residents to make travel safer one mile at a time.
