Fort Worth ISD students posted stronger gains than the state average on this year’s STAAR exams, with improvements in both reading and math across grades 3-8.
According to results released by the Texas Education Agency, statewide scores increased by one percentage point in reading and math. In Fort Worth ISD, reading scores rose by three percentage points, while math scores increased by six points.
District leaders noted that Fort Worth ISD avoided declines in every tested grade level, a key milestone as the district continues working under state oversight.
Fort Worth Education Partnership CEO Brent Beasley credited teachers, campus leaders, and former Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar for the progress. New Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata called the results encouraging but said the district is aiming for even greater improvement in the years ahead.
While district scores remain below state averages overall, the latest results suggest that students continue to make meaningful academic gains.
