If you have noticed larger-than-usual helicopters moving across the skyline this week, you are not imagining it.
Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth is hosting HMH 361, known as the Flying Tigers, from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The Marine squadron has been training in North Texas airspace, bringing its CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters to the region for joint force exercises.
The Super Stallion is one of the heaviest lifting helicopters in the U.S. military, and its presence over Fort Worth has been hard to miss. For residents nearby, it has been a reminder that this base remains an active and vital part of national defense.
NAS JRB Fort Worth is providing facilities and support as the squadron sharpens its skills in a joint training environment. The visit underscores the collaboration between branches and the importance of readiness.
