A year ago, Benbrook celebrated Carlyle Hayes’s century mark. Somehow, another birthday has already arrived.
Hayes, a longtime Benbrook resident and World War II veteran, turned 101, marking the occasion with family and friends at the Benbrook Senior Activity Center. His family helped make the day a little sweeter by sharing cake and ice cream with everyone gathered to celebrate.
Longevity also runs in the Hayes family. Carlyleโs mother lived to 112 and was once recognized as the oldest person in North Carolina. But today belonged to Carlyle.
From all of us at Benbrook Life and throughout the Benbrook community, happy 101st birthday, Carlyle. Thank you for your service, and hereโs to 101 years and counting.
