F-35A Flyovers Light Up Texas During Military Exercise.

If you’ve noticed more jets overhead lately, you’re not imagining things. The skies around Benbrook and NAS JRB Fort Worth have been busier than usual, thanks to a special visit from the 60th Fighter Squadron out of Eglin Air Force Base.

For the past two weeks, these F-35A Lightning II jets have been in town for Exercise Lonestar Lightning, a joint training operation aimed at fine-tuning tactical skills and coordination. Their presence was hard to miss, with thunderous flyovers that reminded us all why it’s called the “sound of freedom.”

As the exercise wraps up and the Crows head back to Florida, locals can expect the skies to quiet down. But if you’re one who enjoys the aerial excitement, don’t worry. Something tells us they’ll be back.
