False Hostage Report Sparks Massive Police Response in Fort Worth.

A false hostage claim prompted a heavy police and SWAT response to a Westland Avenue home in west Fort Worth on Tuesday evening.

The caller alleged he was hiding in a closet while his brother held their grandmother at gunpoint.

Over 30 emergency units arrived around 5 p.m., only to find the report was a hoax, known as “swatting.” Police are investigating the incident, which carries serious legal consequences.
