No school Thursday? D-BAT Benbrook is giving young baseball players a chance to trade the classroom for the batting cage.
D-BAT will host a Baseball Development Day on Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Benbrook facility, 1500 Markum Ranch Road. The five-hour camp will keep players moving while working on hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning.
Coaches will cover swing mechanics and plate discipline, infield and outfield work, pitching form and control, plus leads, steals and sliding.
The camp costs $75 per player, with membership discounts available. Players should bring a glove, water bottle, lunch and snacks, along with comfortable athletic clothing and cleats. Those with a bat and helmet should bring them as well.
Space is limited, and D-BAT recommends registering early. All registrations are nonrefundable.
