Could Sleeping Naked Help You Sleep Better?

โ€ข

Sleeping without pajamas may do more than keep you cool. Because body temperature naturally drops as you fall asleep, ditching sleepwear could help some people cool down faster, fall asleep sooner, and stay asleep longer.

Sleeping naked may also reduce trapped heat and sweat that can contribute to skin irritation, rashes, and breakouts. Clean, breathable sheets can help, too.

There may even be a connection between cooler sleeping temperatures and metabolism.

Research has found that sleeping in cooler conditions can increase brown fat activity, which produces heat by burning calories.

Still, sleeping naked shouldnโ€™t be considered a weight-loss strategy. The bigger benefit may come from getting better, longer sleep, since consistently poor sleep has been linked to weight gain.

Pajamas arenโ€™t the enemy, but if you tend to sleep hot, wearing less to bed may be worth a try.
