Cook Children’s Debuts a Hallway Thanksgiving Parade.

Cook Children’s brought a burst of holiday joy to its Fort Worth campus with its first-ever Thanksgiving Parade on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Instead of crowds lining city streets, families and young patients lined the hospital halls as decorated floats, costumes, and cheerful teams rolled past their doorways.

Staff from across the hospital created the floats themselves, turning everyday carts and equipment into rolling displays of color and imagination. For children who cannot spend Thanksgiving at home, the morning became a chance to feel part of a celebration that came right to them.

The event was organized by the Child Life department and the Child Life Zone, whose work often shapes the emotional heartbeat of the hospital. Their efforts helped transform a regular weekday into a moment of light, comfort, and connection for families navigating a difficult season.
