Fort Worth is getting ready for one of its brightest nights of the year.
UPDATE: The Parade of Lights was originally scheduled for November 23rd. However, due to severe thunderstorms, the Parade of Lights has been rescheduled to November 30th.
The Parade of Lights will move through downtown on November 23, and thousands of families are expected to line the streets for the annual kickoff to the holiday season. If you plan to go, now is the time to get familiar with the route and the traffic changes coming with it.
A parade of this size brings numerous road closures and slow-moving traffic, especially around Weatherford Street, Sundance Square, and the Convention Center. Several garages along the route will stay open, but expect them to fill quickly. Sections marked in purple on the map show where spectators can gather, while red symbols mark areas without viewing access. Announcement stands and sponsor seating will also shape foot traffic, so arriving early is a smart move.
Many residents wondered about the weather. The parade does not cancel for rain. If showers roll in, floats, performers, and spectators keep going, so pack a raincoat just in case.
