With several days of freezing temperatures ahead, Under The Bridge Fort Worth is asking the community to step up quickly to help neighbors experiencing homelessness stay warm and safe.
The immediate need is for winter survival items. Large warm blankets, sleeping bags rated for freezing temperatures, coats and jackets, hats, gloves, thick socks, hand warmers, tents in new or like-new condition, sturdy bags for carrying supplies, and fire logs are all in short supply.
These basics can make the difference between safety and serious risk during prolonged cold snaps, especially when people are displaced and lose what little they have.
Monetary donations are the fastest way to help. Financial support allows the team to purchase exactly what is needed before the cold sets in.
Donations can be made through Venmo at @UndertheBridgeFW, Zelle at underthebridgeministriesfw@gmail.com, PayPal at http://paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4892307, or Cash App at $UndertheBridgeFW.
Those gathering physical items can drop them off and serve alongside the clothing team on Sunday, around 4 p.m. The organization’s Sponsor a Sunday 2026 pledge drive is still ongoing, but right now the focus is on meeting this urgent, life-protecting need.
As temperatures fall, small acts of generosity can have a huge impact. Helping someone stay warm this week could quite literally save a life.
