Chapin Road to Close for Sewer Project Beginning Feb. 16

Drivers who use Chapin Road should plan ahead in the coming weeks.

The City of Fort Worth is moving forward with a sanitary sewer improvement project in Benbrook that will require a full closure of Chapin Road beginning Monday, February 16, 2026. According to the city’s traffic control plan, the closure is expected to last about two months while crews complete the work.

Detour signs and road closure markers will be in place throughout the construction zone. Access will be maintained for at least one nearby resident during the project, but through traffic will need to follow posted detours around the work area.

Sanitary sewer projects like this one are part of routine infrastructure upgrades that often go unnoticed until orange signs are posted. While the temporary inconvenience may slow down daily commutes, the long-term goal is to improve reliability and service beneath the surface.

Residents with questions can contact Stephen Martinez at Stephen.Martinez@fortworthtexas.gov. Additional project details are available at https://www.benbrook-tx.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/789.

If Chapin Road is part of your regular route, now is a good time to map out an alternate route and allow a few extra minutes as construction begins.
