Drivers in Benbrook and West Fort Worth should plan extra time on the road over the next week as major construction continues along I-20, I-30, and I-820.

From Friday, February 6, through Sunday, February 8, I-30 will be fully closed in both directions between I-820 West Loop and Chapel Creek Boulevard for demolition of the RM 2871 Longvue Avenue bridge. The closure begins at 9 pm on Friday and lasts until 3 pm on Sunday. Through traffic will be routed to I-20 and I-820, while local traffic may use frontage roads. Expect significant delays.

Beyond the weekend closure, drivers will see daily lane and shoulder closures along I-20 between Markum Ranch Road and Walsh Ranch Parkway, including midday left lane closures on February 9 and February 11 for median work. Ongoing construction also continues near the I-20 and I-30 split, where main lanes are reduced to two lanes in both directions.

Along I-30 from Linkcrest Drive to I-820, several long-term changes remain in place. These include a closed westbound exit to Linkcrest Drive, a closed eastbound entrance ramp at Linkcrest, periodic daytime ramp closures near Alemeda Street, and reduced frontage road access. The Longvue Avenue bridge itself is now closed through August 2026, with detours in place via Chapel Creek Boulevard and Alemeda Street.

I-820 West Loop will also see weekend connector ramp closures tied to the bridge demolition, along with ongoing lane and frontage road restrictions near Westpoint Boulevard.

Construction officials urge drivers to plan ahead, follow posted detours, and expect delays, especially during daytime work hours and the I-30 weekend shutdown.
