Relief could be on the way for Benbrook drivers navigating deteriorating pavement along Winscott Road.
The City of Benbrook and Tarrant County have approved a $1.485 million road repair project to replace about 450 damaged concrete panels, improving driving conditions and extending the roadway’s lifespan.
Each panel measures about 33 square yards and is made of eight-inch-thick concrete.
The project is fully funded through Tarrant County’s 2006 and 2021 Transportation Bond Programs under Precinct 2 Commissioner Alisa Simmons, meaning no matching funds are required from the City of Benbrook.
With approvals secured, city staff is preparing construction bid documents. Officials expect to award a construction contract this fall, with work beginning shortly afterward. A specific start date has not been announced.
Residents can follow project updates through Benbrook at a Glance or contact Heath Haseloff at HHaseloff@benbrook-tx.gov.
