Sometimes the path to the skies starts with a little local help. A recent graduate of Tarrant County College’s aviation program is on the hunt for a certified flight instructor (CFI) role to build the flight hours he needs before applying to the airlines.
His wife took to the Benbrook community with a simple ask: does anyone know who’s hiring? The response has been nothing short of uplifting.
Suggestions quickly poured in, pointing toward places like Nationwide Aviation in Weatherford, Harbour Aviation in Cresson, In The Pattern in Granbury, and Delta Qualiflight at Meacham. Others recommended checking out Bourland Field just south of town, Bird Dog Flight School at Hicks Field, and several schools in Denton and at Fort Worth Spinks.
There was even talk of opportunity in Granbury, where increased air traffic and upcoming airport upgrades tied to Taylor Sheridan’s crew could lead to new openings.
While the flight school he trained at currently has a full roster of instructors, the waitlist hasn’t grounded his ambition. With flexibility in schedule and location, he’s ready to go wherever the opportunity leads.
It’s one of those moments where a community leans in, offering more than leads. It offers a lift.
