Meacham International Airport is celebrating 100 years of aviation in Fort Worth.
Established in 1925 as Fort Worth Municipal Airport and later renamed in 1927 to honor Mayor Henry C. Meacham, the airport played a key role in Texas aviation history, with its first scheduled airline flight departing in 1928.
While passenger service moved to Greater Southwest Airport in 1953, Meacham continued to serve as a key general aviation hub.
Today, it ranks as the sixth busiest airport in Texas, handling over 210,000 operations in 2024.
To commemorate its centennial, Meacham will partner with the Fort Worth Aviation Museum for Hops and Props 2025, a celebration with food, music, and aviation-themed activities, on April 26.
