Before the cookouts and long weekend plans begin, Benbrook residents will have an opportunity to pause together and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.
The Paul Mansir American Legion Post 297 and VFW Memorial Post 10429 are inviting the community to attend the city’s annual Memorial Day Tribute on Monday, May 25, at 8 a.m. at Benbrook City Hall, located at 911 Winscott Road.
The morning ceremony will include the lowering of the colors to half-staff, a live performance of Taps by bugler Tristan Anderson, a ceremonial flag folding and presentation, and the wreath of honor presentation.
Organizers say the event is meant to bring veterans, families, neighbors, and community members together in remembrance of those who gave their lives in military service to the country.
Memorial Day ceremonies like this one continue to hold deep meaning for many families across Benbrook, serving as a quiet reminder that freedom often carries a personal cost remembered long after the battlefield.
The public is welcome to attend, and community members are encouraged to share the invitation with friends and neighbors.
