Benbrook Launches Its First Wreaths Across America Ceremony and Calls for Volunteers.

โ€ข

Benbrook is preparing to take part in Wreaths Across America for the very first time.

Local organizer Kelly Wright Sears is inviting the community to help honor veterans laid to rest at Benbrook Cemetery. The national effort places remembrance wreaths at military graves across all 50 states and beyond, and now Benbrook is joining that tradition.

Two volunteer days are planned. The first is the wreath placement ceremony at Benbrook Cemetery. The second is a wreath clean-up and deconstruction day at the Benbrook VFW, where volunteers will also be served a hot-dog-and-hamburger lunch. Students who participate can receive official service hours, and Sears noted that the red bows from the wreaths will be donated for school use once the project is complete.

The goal is to cover every veteranโ€™s grave in Benbrook fully. Any additional sponsored wreaths will be sent on to DFW National Cemetery to help extend the honor even further.

Residents can sponsor a wreath for seventeen dollars at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX1453P. Volunteers can sign up for one or both days at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F094FAFAA28AAFA7-60548866-benbrook.

It is a simple but meaningful way for families, students, and neighbors to show gratitude and help uphold a tradition rooted in remembrance and respect.
