A proposed gas station on nearly 80 acres along Loop 820 and new rules for data centers are on the table when the Benbrook Planning and Zoning Commission meets Thursday night.
The commission will hold three public hearings during its Oct. 8 meeting at the Benbrook Municipal Complex, 911 Winscott Road. The regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., following a 7 p.m. worksession.
One request involves 9.133 acres near the northwest corner of Benbrook Boulevard and the SW Loop 820 frontage road, including 8401, 8402, and 8411 Vista Way. The applicant is seeking a zoning change that would allow a gas station to be considered through the cityโs conditional use permit process.
Commissioners will also consider a preliminary plat for 79.81 acres at 4501 W. Loop 820 S., between Veterans Parkway and Chapin Road. The proposal calls for one lot currently zoned for multiple-family residential development.
The third public hearing deals with data centers. Proposed changes would define data centers and set regulations under Benbrookโs zoning ordinance and require a conditional use permit before one could be developed. Under the proposal, the Planning and Zoning Commission would review a request and make a recommendation, with City Council having final approval authority.
All three items are scheduled for public hearings and remain subject to commission action.
