Got an old television, broken computer, or stack of documents taking up space? Benbrook residents can get rid of them for free this weekend.
The City of Benbrook is hosting its Free E-Waste and Shred Event on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to noon, or until trucks reach capacity, at Dutch Branch Park.
The event will take place in the back parking lot behind the Benbrook Community Center YMCA at 1899 Winscott Road.
Residents can recycle unwanted electronics and appliances, including computers, monitors, printers, televisions (excluding CRT models), gaming systems, microwaves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and more. Innovative Electronics will destroy computer hard drives.
Sierra Shred will also provide free on-site document shredding, limited to reasonable household quantities. Large amounts of business documents are discouraged, and residents should remove credit cards, CDs, and other plastic materials before shredding.
Proof of Benbrook residency is required, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.
