Benbrook in 2025: Steady Growth, Strong Services, Community First.

The City of Benbrook’s 2025 Annual Report was released yesterday, and it paints a clear picture of a community focused on practical progress, public safety, and long-term stability.

Over the past year, city leaders prioritized infrastructure that residents see and feel every day.

Public Services improved 15.5 miles of streets and replaced the low water crossing at Dutch Branch Park, addressing drainage concerns and protecting access for families and businesses. Parks crews resurfaced basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, keeping popular gathering spots safe and usable.

Economic momentum continued.

More than $93.4 million was invested through commercial development, with 16 new businesses opening their doors in 2025. Five additional major projects remain under construction.

The Benbrook Economic Development Corporation reinvested nearly $949,000 into beautification and business support efforts, strengthening storefronts and helping local companies stay competitive.

Public safety remained a cornerstone.

The Police Department responded to 14,496 calls with an average response time of 2.85 minutes. Citizens on Patrol volunteers continue contributing hundreds of hours to support officers. The Fire Department answered 4,264 calls for service, including more than 2,600 EMS responses, and transported nearly 2,000 patients to area hospitals.

In addition, the department maintained its Class 2 ISO rating, placing it among the top fire departments nationwide.

Financially, the city maintained an AA+ bond rating and earned multiple state and national awards for financial reporting and budgeting.

And for homeowners, the average taxable value of a single-family home was $298,730, with property tax dollars distributed among the city, school district, county, hospital district, and community college.

Community life also stayed active.

Events such as Heritage Fest, the Tree Lighting and Fireworks Show, Touch-A-Truck, the Artisan and Farmers Market, and environmental cleanup efforts brought neighbors together throughout the year. Residents played a direct role in shaping park redevelopment plans, reinforcing the city’s commitment to public input.

Taken together, the report reflects a city that is not chasing headlines but building steadily. Streets are improved. Businesses are opening. Public safety remains strong. And residents continue to show up for one another.
