Every summer, libraries become much more than a place to check out books. They host reading programs, hands-on activities, educational workshops, and events that keep children, teens, and families learning long after the school year ends.
Now, Benbrook residents have an easy way to help support those efforts across Texas.
Through June 30, shoppers can donate to the Texas Library Association (TLA) at checkout at H-E-B, either in-store or online. According to the campaign, 100 percent of donations will go toward enriching summer programming at Texas libraries.
The impact reaches far beyond a single community. More than 5 million Texans participate in library summer reading programs each year. More than 100 Texas libraries received TLA grants for summer programs last year, and public libraries across the state collectively host more than 140,000 summer programs annually.
For Benbrook families who enjoy library storytimes, teen activities, craft programs, and summer reading events, a small donation at checkout can help strengthen opportunities like these for communities across Texas.

Sometimes making a difference is as simple as adding a few dollars at checkout. This month, that small gesture can help keep library shelves, classrooms, and community spaces filled with learning and opportunity across Texas.
