Over the past decade, the number of renters aged 65 and above in Dallas-Fort Worth has increased by 66.5%, with more than 78,000 seniors now renting.
Many are opting out of homeownership to downsize, save money, and live closer to family.
DFW saw the biggest overall increase in senior renters in Texas and ranked 5th nationally. Locally, places like The Album at Benbrook have seen a surge in their clientele.
This shift reflects a growing trend among older adults to choose simplicity and flexibility in their housing options.
