Didn’t Get Into Pre-K at Westpark or Rolling Hills?

If your child didn’t land a Pre-K spot at Westpark or Rolling Hills Elementary, you’re not alone—and it doesn’t mean you’re out of options.

With only 5,000 Pre-K seats across Fort Worth ISD, competition is steep, especially at popular campuses like these. Some schools offer just 50 to 75 spots, depending on teacher availability and space, so it’s easy to see how applications quickly outpace availability.

First things first—don’t give up. Make sure your child is on a waitlist if one exists. Sometimes, schools are able to open up additional Pre-K classrooms once original units fill up.

Missed out at Rolling Hills? You’re not the only one—even with three classrooms, demand is high. But there are strong nearby alternatives worth exploring. Consider these:

  • Waverly Park Elementary – Just 10 minutes from Benbrook, with six Pre-K classrooms and flexible tour availability.
  • Westcliff Elementary
  • South Hi Mount Elementary
  • Ridglea Hills Elementary

Each of these campuses offers full-day, free Pre-K with structured learning, play, and certified teachers. Many also feature dual-language programs and inclusive classroom environments.

Still feeling stuck? Reach out to Benbrook’s district board rep, Dr. Michael Ryan, at michael.ryan@fwisd.org. Parents say he’s responsive and proactive—last year, several families saw results within days after contacting him, including the successful push for an added Pre-K class.

Fort Worth ISD is committed to making room for every 4-year-old in the district. For more info and next steps, head over to fwisd.org/pre-k.

It’s not too late to get your little one set up for a strong start—keep pushing, keep asking, and stay hopeful.
