Even while battling a few early-season injuries, Benbrook senior libero and volleyball captain Ennie Troqe has reached a milestone worth celebrating.
The 5-foot-3 senior recorded her 500th career dig Friday during the Lady Bobcats’ matchup against Arlington Heights, adding her name to Benbrook’s 500-dig club.
For a libero, digs are earned in the less glamorous moments of volleyball: reading the attack, getting to the ball, and keeping a play alive. Troqe has now done that at least 500 times during her Benbrook career.
The milestone also comes during her senior season, with Troqe helping lead the Lady Bobcats as one of the team’s captains.
