The morning commute was disrupted today after a fatal single-vehicle crash just northwest of Benbrook.
Shortly before 8 a.m., emergency crews responded to the 10700 block of White Settlement Road following reports of a vehicle that left the roadway and struck a tree.
White Settlement Fire Department crews, including Engine 18 and Rescue 18, along with Fort Worth Medic 32 and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office deputies, arrived to find the vehicle heavily damaged. Firefighters began extrication efforts while a CareFlite helicopter was placed on standby.
Authorities later confirmed the crash resulted in a fatality at the scene.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area while first responders worked to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
