FWISD Investigating Western Hills Teacher Following Online Complaint.

A Western Hills High School teacher is the subject of a Fort Worth ISD investigation after concerns raised on social media prompted a district review last week.

According to reporting by the Star-Telegram, Spanish teacher Ernie Moran came under scrutiny after Tarrant County conservative activist Carlos Turcios shared screenshots from Moran’s classroom website and social media accounts on X. Turcios alleged the site included references to LGBTQ issues, Black Lives Matter, and a foreign flag.

The flag in question was reportedly the flag of Spain, which appears on Moran’s school website as part of his role teaching Spanish.

Fort Worth ISD has confirmed it is investigating the matter. Additional details about the scope of the review or any potential outcomes have not been publicly released.

The situation has generated discussion about classroom content, educator expression, and the role of social media in raising concerns about public education.
