Water pressure has returned to normal in Fort Worth’s Ventana neighborhood, but residents must continue boiling their water until further notice.
In a Thursday, October 15, update, the City of Fort Worth said power has been restored to the Ventana Pump Station, and crews have repaired a broken water main along Benbrook Highway near Bear Creek Parkway.
The City issued the precautionary boil water notice Wednesday after a power outage caused water pressure to drop.
Residents in the affected area should continue boiling water vigorously for two minutes before using it to drink, cook, brush teeth, or make ice. Bottled water may also be used.
Water quality testing is underway, with results expected Friday morning, October 16. If testing meets safety standards and receives state approval, the city will lift the notice.
Free bottled water is available at Ventana Parkway and Barco Road, with distribution scheduled for Thursday until noon and again from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 6 to 9 a.m. An additional Friday evening distribution will take place if testing fails. Distribution is limited to one case per vehicle for affected customers.
The boil water notice does not affect City of Benbrook or Benbrook Water Authority customers.
