Benbrook’s Young Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage at City Council Meeting.

The lemonade may be gone, but the impact of Lemonade Day 2026 is still being celebrated across Benbrook.

During a recent Benbrook City Council meeting, several young entrepreneurs were recognized for their participation in this year’s program and had the opportunity to share what they learned about running a business. The evening highlighted not only their hard work, but also the community that helped make it possible.

Mayor Jason Ward personally visited every lemonade stand during the event, sampling products and selecting two special award winners. This year’s honors went to Lucky Ducks and Blockhead’s Dirty Sodas, with city leaders joining the students for a commemorative photo.

The numbers tell the story of a community that showed up in a big way. A total of 319 Benbrook-area students participated in the educational program, learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, budgeting, marketing, and customer service. Of those students, 65 young business owners operated 33 lemonade stands throughout the city.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated volunteer committee helped bring the program to life. Community leaders, business owners, educators, city staff, and nonprofit partners worked together for months to create opportunities for local students to gain real-world business experience.

Organizers also expressed appreciation to the many local businesses and sponsors whose donations helped support the event.

Lemonade Day has become more than a one-day fundraiser. It’s an opportunity for young people to discover what it takes to turn an idea into a business, and this year’s turnout showed just how strongly Benbrook believes in investing in the next generation.

Congratulations to every student who participated. And if this year’s success is any indication, Lemonade Day 2027 is already off to a strong start.
