Public Records Request Raises New Questions on Trinity Estates.

BENBROOK, TX — A recent public records request tied to the Trinity Estates development is adding another layer to an ongoing conversation in south Benbrook, where residents continue to push for clarity around safety, oversight, and decision-making.

Long-time resident Greg Clem submitted a request on April 9 seeking detailed records related to the development at 1205 S. Timberline.

The request covered a wide range of information, including internal communications, meeting records, citations, and any approvals or exceptions granted to the developer. It also asked for documentation related to a reported safety review meeting and any communication involving the fire chief regarding flood risks.

The goal, Clem said, was simple. To understand how decisions were made and what information guided them, especially as concerns around flooding and access continue to surface among nearby residents.

In a letter dated April 20, the City of Benbrook confirmed that it had located responsive documents and set the cost of the records at $4.33. However, the city also stated that some of the requested information may be withheld under state law and has asked the Office of the Attorney General to review what can be released.

That step, while part of the formal process, means not all records will be immediately available.

For residents following the issue, the response leaves key questions unresolved. What details will be released, what will remain withheld, and how long the review will take are still unclear.

At its core, the situation reflects a broader concern voiced by many in the area. As development continues, residents are asking for clearer communication and a process they can follow and trust.

For now, the next step rests with the state’s review. Until then, the call for transparency remains at the forefront of the conversation around Trinity Estates.
