Some Fort Worth ISD campuses have made remarkable leaps in their Texas Education Agency accountability ratings this year, according to FWISD Watchdog.
Schools that were previously failing are now showing strong improvements, with several jumping two full letter grades.
Highlights include:
- Mary Louise Phillips Elementary: F(51) to B(85), up 34 points
- Cesar Chavez Elementary: F(59) to B(85), up 26 points
- Versia L. Williams Elementary: F(59) to B(82), up 23 points
- D. McRae Elementary: F(56) to B(80), up 24 points
- Sam Rosen Elementary: F(56) to C(79), up 23 points
- Bruce Shulkey Elementary: F(55) to C(74), up 19 points
- J.T. Stevens: F(59) to C(75), up 16 points
These gains come as district leadership continues to face questions about accountability and representation. Trustee Wallace Bridges, who oversees the largest number of schools with 19 campuses, has multiple schools on the list, while Trustee Tobi Jackson represents the fewest schools with 11. Other trustees with F-rated schools in their districts include Dr. Michael Ryan, Anne Darr, and Trustee Rodriguez.
The discussion of rezoning to better align district representation with school pyramids has resurfaced, sparking debate on how best to balance oversight and support.
