A Sewing Creative Outlet at the YMCA.

If your sewing machine has been gathering dust, now’s your chance to put it to use.

The Downtown YMCA is offering beginner-friendly sewing classes designed to help you build confidence, learn basic techniques, and finally create something you’re proud of—yes, even Halloween costumes.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or brushing up on old skills, this class covers the essentials: reading patterns, understanding your machine, stitching garments, and more. Bring your own machine or use one at the studio. Supplies can be provided, or you can bring your own.

Classes run Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm.

• Session I: Aug 19 – Sept 23
• Session II: Sept 30 – Nov 4
• Session III: Nov 11 – Dec 16

Cost is $225 for members or $275 for non-members. Class size is limited, so don’t wait.
