If you’ve lived in Texas long enough, you already know the drill. But it’s worth saying again—this week is not the one to forget your water bottle or linger too long in the sun.
A heat advisory is in effect through Tuesday evening across North and East Texas, including the Benbrook area and the greater Fort Worth region. The “feels like” temperature? Up to a sweltering 107°F, with afternoon highs between 95 and 102°F.
Translation: it’s the kind of heat that sneaks up on you, drains your energy, and turns your car into an oven in minutes.
So here’s your friendly reminder from the National Weather Service:
- Drink water often, even if you don’t feel thirsty
- Stick to light, breathable clothes
- Take breaks in the shade or indoors with A/C
- And absolutely never leave kids or pets in the car
Summer in Texas isn’t shy, and neither should you be about taking care of yourself and your people. Stay safe, stay cool, and if you’re out and about, maybe save the yard work and long walks for later in the week.
