The Western Hills Cougars Tennis Team is celebrating a talented senior lineup, each bringing their own story and dedication to the court.
Jessica Hernandez, the team’s top varsity girls player, is in her fourth year and fresh off a third-place district doubles finish. She balances her love for tennis with reading, music, and a goal of studying architecture in college.
Co-Captain Issac Street, also a four-year player, joined after a nudge from his sister and now thrives in leadership. His teammate and fellow Co-Captain, Vianet Garcia, has been chasing tennis since middle school. Alongside competition, she’s involved in student leadership programs and plans to study nursing.
Isabel Alcala began as a team manager before taking up the sport herself. She’s active in AFJROTC, robotics, and academics, with plans to double major in mechanical and computer engineering.
Amy Guzman, now in her second year, discovered a real passion for the game after joining for fun. She’s also a leader in the school band and is focused on making her senior year enjoyable and stress-free.
Rounding out the group is Daisy Daniels, a multi-sport athlete and student leader who aspires to a career in elementary education.
