The Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) at Western Hills High School is celebrating a major victory as they return from the state competition with impressive results and national qualifications!
Three standout students have earned a coveted spot at the National TAFE competition:
- Edith and Elaina created an interactive bilingual bulletin board for a 1st-grade dual language class, showcasing materials in both English and Spanish, which real elementary students tested.
- Lourane and Edith took their talents to the next level by crafting a full lesson plan, worksheets, and a PowerPointโall in Spanishโand successfully delivered it to elementary school students.
Additionally, the team earned five Silver Awards at the state level for their exceptional work:
- Daisy and Daissy impressed with a thought-provoking paper and presentation on whether teachers should attend their students’ family graduation parties.
- Sophia, Sam, and Isabel created a compelling Public Service Announcement aimed at recruiting college students into the teaching profession.
With these accomplishments, the TAFE program at Western Hills High School is proving to be a powerhouse for aspiring educators, and these talented students are poised to make waves at the national stage.
