For the Western Hills High School Class of 2026, one of the most meaningful traditions of senior year happened not inside their high school halls, but back where many of their stories first began.
Graduating seniors recently took part in the annual Senior Walk and Clap Out, visiting campuses across the community as younger students, teachers, and staff lined the halls to cheer them on.
According to Cougar Pride Alliance’s Patty Pressley, the event included visits to Western Hills Primary, Western Hills Elementary, Leonard, Waverly Park, and Luella Merrett. Pressley described the tradition as “always the most fun ending to high school.”
The walk gives seniors a chance to reflect on how far they have come, while giving younger students a glimpse of what their own future could hold. For many families and teachers, it is also a full-circle moment, seeing former elementary students return in caps and gowns just weeks before graduation.
