It was a road trip the Western Hills High School football team will not soon forget, but not for the usual reasons.
The Cougars traveled to Krum last Friday night ready to play, only to be sidelined by a lightning delay followed by a full power outage at the stadium. With no chance of the lights coming back on, the game was called off before a single snap.
Despite the letdown, the team gave thanks to the Cougar Cheer squad, the band, and the dedicated staff and fans who made the long trip to support them.
Now attention turns to the next matchup. The Cougars will face Dallas Hillcrest on Thursday, September 11, at Franklin Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and fans are encouraged to show up in force to fill the stands and bring the energy.
