As winter weather continues to disrupt travel and school operations, Fort Worth ISD has announced a series of athletics schedule adjustments for games originally scheduled for Monday, January 26, through Thursday, January 29.
The changes are aimed at keeping students, families, and staff safe while preserving as much of the schedule as possible.
High school basketball sub-varsity games scheduled for Tuesday have been canceled. Varsity basketball games set for Tuesday will now be played on Thursday at 6:00 pm at the same locations.
High school soccer has also been reshuffled. Varsity matches scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to Thursday with a 6:30 pm kickoff, while sub-varsity games planned for Thursday and freshman games scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled.
High school tennis will not compete this week, as both Tuesday and Wednesday matches have been canceled. Softball scrimmages scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday are also canceled.
At the middle school level, all girls’ basketball games originally set for Monday are canceled for the week, along with all boys’ basketball games scheduled for Wednesday.
The district JV wrestling tournament in Azle, planned for Wednesday, has been canceled, while the varsity wrestling tournament in Azle on Thursday remains on schedule.
Games scheduled for Friday, January 30, are expected to proceed as planned.
Families are encouraged to stay flexible, double-check schedules, and allow extra time for travel as conditions improve across the area.
