When an emergency happens, preparation often makes all the difference.
Last week, the Benbrook Fire Department’s B-Shift spent the day sharpening critical search and victim removal skills through hands-on training exercises. Crews practiced locating and removing simulated victims while focusing on communication, teamwork, and efficiency under pressure.
While the training scenarios may be controlled, the skills are very real. Exercises like these help firefighters stay ready for the moments when lives depend on quick decisions and coordinated action.
For Benbrook residents, it serves as a reminder that behind every emergency response is a team that regularly trains, practices, and prepares long before the call comes in.
