STEPS With Horses Mourns the Loss of Beloved Therapy Horse.

A familiar face that brought comfort to countless people is gone, but her impact will be felt for years to come.

STEPS With Horses announced the passing of Belle, a cherished member of its therapy herd, following a sudden respiratory illness. Despite extensive veterinary care and an outpouring of support from the community, Belle was unable to recover.

During her 4½ years with the nonprofit, Belle helped more than 1,000 clients, volunteers, staff, and visitors. Known for her gentle nature, she was often one of the first horses to greet newcomers, offering a quiet sense of comfort and connection.

STEPS also expressed gratitude to Thomas Foundation Second Chance Horse Rescue for rescuing Belle and giving her the opportunity to spend her life helping others heal.
