A morning of horses, healing, and hands-on fun is coming to North Texas later this month, and families across the Benbrook area are invited to be part of it.
STEPS with Horses will host a free community open house on Saturday, May 23, giving guests the chance to meet the organization’s beloved herd and learn how equine-assisted programs are making a difference in people’s lives.
Held at Lena Pope North Campus in Roanoke, the event invites visitors to spend time with horses and donkeys like Echo, Gypsy, Belle, Starbuck, Mama Mia, and more while seeing firsthand how connection with animals can support emotional growth, confidence, and healing.
Guests can enjoy pasture visits with the herd, facility tours, arts and crafts activities, a photo booth, and live program demonstrations led by Dr. Hallie Sheade at 10:20 a.m. and 11:20 a.m.
The open house runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 23, at 10600 Dunham Rd. in Roanoke. Admission is free, though select activities may include a fee.
Organizers encourage families to register in advance, as space is limited.
