Fort Worth residents are invited to join Dr. Opal Lee, affectionately known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth, for a powerful walk of remembrance and celebration.
The 2.5-mile journey through the heart of the city’s cultural district marks the distance enslaved people in Texas waited for their freedom after it was declared.
The walk ends with a high-energy community celebration at Farrington Field, where families can enjoy live music, local food vendors, and plenty of good vibes. It’s more than just a party—it’s a tribute to freedom, resilience, and unity.
