Routine Check Turns Tragic Near Aledo.

What started as a standard water infrastructure check ended in heartbreak Friday evening, June 13.

Two men were found unresponsive in a water tank off Aledo Iona Road, just outside Benbrook, after coworkers called for help when the pair stopped answering calls.

Responding to the 911 call around 5:15 p.m., both Tarrant County and Parker County agencies arrived at the scene. Despite rescue efforts, it was too late. The incident has now shifted from rescue to investigation, with Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office confirming a double fatality.

Authorities continue to piece together what happened, but for now, the community mourns the lives lost while awaiting more details.
