Obituary for Gordon Wray Maberry

WILLOW PARK, TX—Gordon Wray Maberry, 61, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and retired Fort Worth firefighter, tragically passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, following an accidental drowning at the Benbrook YMCA.

Known for his unwavering dedication to family and community, Gordon found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved swimming at the YMCA, relishing concerts from bands like The Eagles and KISS, and sharing lighthearted “Dad jokes.”

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at North Side Baptist Church, located at 910 North Main St., Weatherford, TX. The funeral service will follow immediately at the same location. Interment is scheduled for 3 p.m. at McCaulley Cemetery in Fisher County, Texas.
