Mystery Rumbles Shake Benbrook and Beyond.

Benbrook residents found themselves comparing notes Friday afternoon after a series of loud rumbles rolled across town.

The first reports came in around 3:00 pm from neighbors near Whiskey Flats and Martin’s Hill, quickly spreading to comments from Chapin Road, 2871, Westpark, Bella Ranch, Aledo, Cresson, and even Acton. Some felt the ground shake. Others heard sharp booms or a long, rolling rumble that sounded like thunder with clear skies overhead.

The guesses came fast. A small earthquake. A gas well issue. A jet breaking the sound barrier. Filming explosions from a Taylor Sheridan production. Training activity at NAS JRB Fort Worth.

And with so many different reports, residents across western Tarrant and Parker counties wondered what exactly shook their windows.

NAS JRB Fort Worth did announce end-of-day exercises between noon and 2:00 pm, with loud noise expected, which matches part of the timeline for some residents.

Others pointed to reports that the series Lioness was filming explosive scenes in the region on Friday afternoon.

A few spotted helicopters and a surveillance plane near Pyramid Acres and Pearl Ranch Road. Many stepped outside to check the sky, unsure what was happening but confident they felt it.

What residents agree on is simple. The rumbles were real, widespread, and stronger than the usual noise that carried from the base. Whether it was military training, filming activity, or a combination of both has not yet been confirmed.

This is a developing story. More details will be shared as official information becomes available.
