Fort Worth ISD is moving forward in the state takeover process, and that transition now includes a change in leadership.
Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar shared that she participated in interviews with the Texas Education Agency after the state initiated its intervention last October. That process included appointing a conservator and beginning the selection of a Board of Managers.
Dr. Molinar has since been notified that she will not continue as superintendent under the stateโs appointment.
During her time leading the district, FWISD implemented a strategic plan, launched a literacy initiative, and introduced a new instructional framework to improve academic outcomes for students.
The Texas Education Agency will continue overseeing the transition. More information is available at https://tea.texas.gov.
For Benbrook families with students in FWISD, the focus remains the same as the district moves through this next chapter: steady leadership and strong support for student success.
