The Western Hills High School girls’ soccer team is finishing the regular season with momentum and a playoff spot already secured.
For the second year in a row, the Lady Cougars have qualified for postseason play. This year’s team locked in its playoff position weeks before the end of the district schedule and is guaranteed to finish second in District 7 4A.
The season has been one of the program’s strongest runs in years. Through 13 district matches, Western Hills has posted 10 wins, one tie, and two losses. Both losses came against first-place Benbrook. Along the way, the Lady Cougars have built a plus-20 goal differential and scored 67 goals in district play.
The team will celebrate Senior Night on Friday at Western Hills High School. Junior varsity will take the field at 5:30 p.m., followed by a senior recognition ceremony around 6:45 p.m., with the varsity match scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
After the regular season wraps up, Western Hills will move into the Bi-District playoffs on March 19. The match is set for 6:00 p.m. at Scarborough Handley Field, located at 6201 Craig Street in Fort Worth.
For Cougar fans, the postseason run offers another chance to support a team that has turned this season into one of the program’s most memorable in recent years.
