The Western Hills Cougars couldn’t change the script Friday night, falling 71-38 to the Eastern Hills Highlanders in a lopsided rematch. This marks the Cougars’ fourth consecutive loss, dropping their record to 6-17 on the season.
Eastern Hills’ Messiah Miller stole the spotlight once again, delivering a dominant performance with 28 points, seven assists, and six steals. Miller’s consistency was on display, extending his streak to 15 straight games scoring in double figures. Teammate Dorian Johnson added to the Highlanders’ firepower, posting a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
With the win, the Highlanders improved to 14-7 and notched their fourth straight road victory.
Both teams now turn their attention to the Benbrook Bobcats. The Cougars will visit Benbrook tonight at 8 p.m., while the Highlanders will host the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 24.
