Benbrook, TX – The Benbrook Zoning and Planning Commission has voted to deny the Rowan Ranch development’s proposed changes to the city’s land use map, rejecting modifications to over 152 acres of land.
The commission also denied the developer’s request for a waiver to resubmit zoning changes, marking a significant victory for engaged residents who voiced concerns over the project.
Local resident Ryan Reagan, who has closely followed zoning regulations, thanked community members for attending the meeting, submitting emails, and contacting city planners. “Your voices were heard, and your involvement made a difference,” he shared in a Facebook update.
While this decision is a win for residents, Reagan noted that the issue may resurface. He plans to work on ways to keep the community informed, given the impact on multiple neighborhoods.
