Benbrook residents should be aware that new water and wastewater rates will take effect on January 1, 2025, following the approval of Resolution 2024-11 by the Benbrook Water Authority (BWA) Board of Directors on November 19, 2024.
The rate changes reflect a 3% increase for water service and a 4% increase for wastewater service.
The new rates maintain the existing rate structure for all customer classes but introduce higher charges for both water and wastewater services. Residential water customers will see rates based on a three-tier usage system, while other classes will pay uniform rates. Wastewater billing will continue with a fixed charge based on meter size and a winter quarter average for residential customers, while commercial users will be billed according to actual monthly consumption.
Additionally, the BWA Board updated its Policies and Procedures in May 2024, and revised the Schedule of Fees in October 2024.
